Youth Olympics 2010
Kiwi Winner!
Did you know that as well as currently having an Olympic silver and bronze medalist in Bevan Docherty, New Zealand also has an Olympic gold medallist? Well, we do. Aaron Barclay (below) won gold at the 2010 Youth Olympics triathlon in Singapore.

In addition to Aaron's win, Auckland's Maddie Dillon (below) got a creditable 8th in the women's race at Singapore, and then combined with Aaron and Australia's Ellie Sathouse and Michael Gosman to get a fantastic 2nd in the Mixed Team Relay. 2013 Youth Olympics Festival
The 2013 Youth Olympics Festival will be held in Sydney, Australia, in January. The age limit for Singapore 2010 was 16-18 years of age (not U19), and it is anticipated this will be the case again in 2013. This means only athletes born between 1 January 1994 and 31 December 1997 (1994, 1995, 1996, 1997) will be eligible for selection. Nominations for the NZ team can still be submitted via the link below. Events: Individual triathlon - 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run; Team Relay (mixed gender, 2 x M/2 x F): 250m swim, 6km bike, 1.5km run for each competitor.
The Australian Youth Olympics Festival 2013 selection policy is now on the Tri NZ website in the selection and carding area for elites, please note; the age restrictions and the funding clause.

2014 Youth Olympic Games
The 2014 Youth Olympic Games are to be held in Nanjing, China, August 16-18.
