ITU World Cup Qualification Criteria

The NF have to enter the athletes through the ITU on-line entry system within 30 days of the race day.

Thirty (30) days before the race date, the start list will be posted on www.triathlon.org based on the following criteria:

  1. Each NF can get a maximum of 6 spots. The host nation can get up to 8 spots.
  2. The top 25 athletes ranked in the current World Cup Rankings among those present in the wait list, will be moved to the start list.
  3. The top 45 athletes ranked in the current ITU points list among those present in the wait list will be moved to the start list.
  4. The remaining athletes in the wait list will be ordered according to the ITU point list as of 30 days before the race.
  5. The entries received after this moment will be placed in the last positions of the wait list.
  6. Every NF can substitute one athlete communicating the names of both athletes involved in the substitution to the ITU Entry Service at email: entries@triathlon.org
  7. Athletes who are withdrawn from the start list will be immediately replaced by the first athlete in the wait list. There will not be any replacement within 72 hours of the start of the race.
  8. wenty five (25) days before the race day, ITU will award the invitations based on the requests received.

The athletes awarded the invitation will be moved to the start list.

NFs who withdraw athletes in the last 7 days before the race day will be fined with XXX $ per withdrawal.
This includes non show to the briefing and athletes who do not start the race.

Athletes not present at the race briefing will be not allowed to compete. The race briefing will take place two days before the race at 17.00.
