Youth
The ITU Triathlon World Championships are coming to Auckland, New Zealand, in 2012! And if you are aged 16-19 years (i.e., born in 1993, 1994, or 1995) you have an opportunity to compete. As well as an elite U19 race, which is tough to get into, there is an age group sprint race available for 16-19-year-olds. New Zealand has the opportunity to have over 20 males and 20 females, respectively, in each age group.
So why not give it a go!
How do you qualify?
Go to the link below and click on age group. You will see that the final selection race for the U19 age group team is:
1. Contact Tri Series Race 5, Kinloch, February 2012 (5 February)

What if I'm not old enough to compete in the World Champs race?
If you are not old enough to compete in the World Champs in Auckland in 2012 then you might want to race in the kids event that will take place as part of the 2012 World Champs festival. This event takes place on Sunday, 14th October, 2012 at St Heliers in Auckland. Watch the www.triauckland.co.nz website for further details. Of course, whether you are competing or not, plan to get to the Auckland waterfront on 20-22 October 2012 to SUPPORT the races and see some of the BEST TRIATHLETES ON THE PLANET competing in our backyard.
See you there!
