Task 5: Without googling, answer the brain teaser below.
You're standing at three light switches at the bottom of stairs to the attic. Each one corresponds to one of three lights in the attic, but you cannot see the lights from where you stand. You can turn the switches on and off and leave them in any position. How can you identify which switch corresponds to which light bulb if you are only allowed one trip upstairs?

Level 3 Coach Programme
The Level 3 Coach programme is aimed at coaches who are supporting the long-term development (> 12 months) of youth and/or adult triathletes and who now wish to extend their knowledge and experience in order to become more effective.

It is important to note that the Level 3 Coach programme has not been established for coaches working with high performance triathletes but is open to all triathlon coaches who meet the registration requirements.

This approach is consistent with Tri NZ's coach development philosophy which recognises that coaches can be 'expert's' irrespective of the age or stage of the triathletes they are coaching, just as educators can be experts at all stages of the education pathway (i.e., pre-school through to post-doctorate).

A key aim of the Level 3 coach programme is for coaches to appreciate the value in: (a) linking theory and practice, and (b) drawing on the knowledge and experience of peers (e.g., triathlon and other individual discipline coaches) and mentors in order to provide more effective coach support.

In essence, Tri NZ wants Level 3 Coaches to adopt a collaborative approach to coaching, and to better understand how to analyse and synthesise information from a range of sources (i.e., from the sport science and coaching literature, to fellow coaches). Coach shadowing and collaboration is a key learning activity within the programme.

Note: when programme registration numbers allow, a Level 3 coach workshop will be held annually.
