Two Kiwis have been named on Inside Triathlon magazine’s list of the 15 Greatest Male Triathletes of All-Time.

A heavyweight cast of both past and present ITU athletes graced the list published this week.

Bevan Docherty was one of two New Zealanders named, thanks in large part to his unrivalled feat of back-to-back Olympic medals at Athens 2004 (silver) and Beijing 2008 (bronze).

Joining Docherty was triathlon legend Hamish Carter, who completed a Kiwi one-two at the Athens Olympics by winning the gold medal.

Other big names on the list include two-time world champion Javier Gomez of Spain and 2009 ITU series champion Alistair Brownlee from Great Britain.

Many other ITU champions from the past were also selected by the magazine, including four-time world champion Simon Lessing of Great Britain, six-time World Cup winner Craig Walton of Australia, double Olympian Conrad Stoltz from South Africa and 1997 World Champion Chris McCormack of Australia.
