Tri-Start Leader Module
If you want to know how you can help kids aged 7-12 years enjoy the sport of triathlon, you are in the right place!

The Tri-Start Leader module is a knowledge-based introduction to triathlon coaching for parents, teachers, and coaches (triathlon, swimming, cycling, and runnng) who are supporting kids aged 7-12 years (approximately Years 5-8) participate in triathlon. STEP 1
If you have little or no experience of coaching and want to find out more about getting started in coaching in a fun and interactive way, go to the Greater Auckland Coaching Unit (GACU) website (see the link below), click on "on-line learning", look under GACU On-Line Coaching Modules, then click on and complete the two on-line modules called "Coaching Starter Pack" and "Safety Net", respectively. Note that by completing these two on-line modules you are two-thirds of the way to becoming a Tri-Start Leader.

After you complete the on-line modules you will receive a certificate via your e-mail address. CLICK HERE for an example of a certificate.

STEP 2
Download the Tri-Start Leader Module Resource (PDF format) CLICK HERE.
After you have read the Tri-Start Leader Module Resource, download the Tri-Start Leader Learning Check (see below), complete the True/False questions, and then send the completed Learning Check to brett.reid@triathlon.org.nz (or post to Brett Reid, Tri NZ, PO Box 128-509, Remuera, Auckland).
