Kris Gemmell finished fast to take first place honours in the United States this morning.
Gemmell was racing at the Memphis in May Triathlon, part of the 5150 circuit.
The race, actually located 30 minutes from Memphis in Tunica, Mississippi, consisted of a 1.5km swim, 40km bike and 10km run.
Gemmell started well and was fourth out of the water with a time of 18:34 before a solid time of 53:48 on the bike.
The second fastest run time of the day (32:48) saw Gemmell stride home to first place with one minute clearance between Cameron Dye in second.
The win means Gemmell qualifies to race at the Hy-Vee Triathlon in Des Moines. The 5150 Championship event is the richest race on the triathlon calendar.
Meanwhile in France, Ryan Sissons was 13th at the Dunkerque French GP as he warms up for the ITU World Championship Series race in Madrid in two weeks time.
