The Contact Tri Series calendar for next season has been confirmed.
The series begins with Race 1 at the Blue Lake in Rotorua on Saturday November 5, 2011. This event is placed perfectly, two weeks out from the ITU World Cup in Auckland, time enough to dust off the gear before the big one.
The crowd favourite Whangamata remains Race 2 after a terrific turnout last season. Let's see how many people it attracts on Tuesday January 3, 2012.
There is a change of order with Christchurch taking up Race 3 of the series. Mark Sunday January 15, 2012 at Pegasus in your diary as the first of two South Island events.
Race 4 is Wanaka. It's going to be interesting to see who emerges as favourite for the second running of Tony Dodds' ‘Doddsy Challenge' - will the local take revenge and get his nose over the line first? We will find out on Friday January 20, 2012.
The 2010/2011 race favourite Kinloch is staying strong as Race 5. There are always some strong contenders here and will produce the goods again on Sunday February 5, 2012.
Sitting proud as Race 6 is Takapuna, which can't get enough of the spotlight. Normally an experienced frontrunner it's taking a youthful approach next season. Who will be the real superstars come Sunday February 19, 2012?
At the back of the pack in Race 7 is Wellington, the stalwart of the contenders. It's a big year for Wellington and everyone will be after a spot as we pull the curtain on the 2011/2012 series on Saturday March 10, 2012.
