Level 1 Coach Accreditation
This coach development programme is endorsed by the International Triathlon Union (ITU)

Option 1 - Distance Learning
Programme Cost: $250.00
Once a coach has registered on the programme they willl receive the following:
Level 1 Coach Booklet (250+ pages)
Level 1 Coach Learning Check
Level 1 Coach Logbook
NZ Coach Approach DVD by SPARC
The Triathlon Coach by Dr John Hellemans
Winning with Sports Psychology DVD
A memory stick containing a number of resources including soft copies of all the templates needed to complete the programme requirements
Once the Level 1 Coach accreditation requirements have been met the coach will receive the following:
A letter of acknowledgement
A certificate
A Tri NZ Level 1 Coach logo
The distance learning option reflects Tri NZ's wish to make coach development and accreditation more accessible to new or future coaches. This option is available to anyone aged over 16 years of age who is a Tri NZ TRIBE member. You DO NOT need to attend a course to complete the accreditation requirements. The cost of the distance learning option is $NZ250.00 (incl GST) as of May 20 2011.

Option 2 - RPL/RCC (Recognition of Prior Learning/Recognition of Current Competency)
A second way to become a Tri NZ accredited coach is to have your prior learning and current skills recognised by Tri NZ as equivalent to the core competencies currently required for Level 1 Coach accreditation.
The RPL/RCC option is aimed at overseas coaches wishing to become Tri NZ accredited coaches, or New Zealand coaches who have been residing overseas for a period of 12 months or more.
One of the accreditation requirements a Level 1 Coach RPL/RCC applicant must complete is the submission of the two modules below:

Understanding the Athlete module
