Here are the key things you need to know if you're staring out in Triathlon, Duathlon, Aquathlon or Multisport.Triathlon has 4 key distances or events:
- Sprint Distance - 750m Swim, 20km Bike, 5km Run
- Standard/ Olympic Distance - 1500m Swim, 40km Bike, 10km Run
- Half Ironman - 2km Swim, 90km Bike, 21km Run
- Ironman - 3.8km Swim, 180km Bike, 42km Run
Event distances can vary from event to event so check out the event details closely to see what distacnes are involved.
Duathlon has 3 key distances:- Sprint Distance - 5km Run, 20km Bike, 2.5km Run
- Standard Distance - 10km Run, 40km Bike, 5km Run
- Long Distance - 10km Run, 60km Bike, 10km Run

Multisport by definition is a mixture of many sports and distances and typically vary as to which sports are involved. Races can last between 30minutes for a beginners event up to 7 days or more in an Adventure Multisport event.
