The Triathlons for everyone

The beginner triathlon is to be held at Ngamotu beach and is a  300m swim, 9km bike and a 3km run along the waterfront. You will finish on the same finish line as the elite athletes on Sunday so experience the opportunity to be a elite triathlete for the day!! It costs just $40 or $30 for Tri NZ members (Tri NZ membership and all its benefits are $10).

The standard distance triathlon is to be held at Ngamotu beach also but is a 1500m swim, 40km bike and then finishing with a 10km waterfront run. You too will also finish under the same finish line as the elites will on the Sunday. It costs just $60 or $50 for Tri NZ members (Tri NZ membership and all its benefits are $10).

You can enter as a team and compete over the standard distance only 1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run. A team consists of a swimmer, a biker and a runner. There can be either two of you or three of you to race as a team. You will be briefed at race start where to go for each leg and the rules of team competitions. It costs each competitor $30 or $90 as a team (Ten dollars less per competitors if you are a Tri NZ member)

Registration: Friday 3rd April, 4pm – 7pm, at Autocity Suzuki, Molesworth Street (late entries will be taken)
Late Registration: Saturday 4th April, 7.30am - 8.30am, Ngamotu Beach (ONLY by email request - no exceptions - email carl.jackson@triathlon.org.nz 1 week prior to event)
Prizegiving: Saturday April 4, 2.30pm at Ngamotu Beach (Note Major spot prize drawn 11.00am on Sunday 5 April during Ocean Swim Prizegiving prior to the commencement of the ITU Continental Cup.


Beginners Triathlon

Registration:
Friday 3rd April, 4pm – 7pm, at Autocity Suzuki, Molesworth Street
Start Time: Men 9.30am, Women 9.33am.
Location: Ngamotu Beach

Wetsuits: Optional
Transition Opens: 7.00am - 9.30am Saturday 5th. 
During this time you must rack your bike and set up all your gear that you will need for the race. You won't be allowed into transition after 9.30am.
Bike Racking: You can rack your bike between 7.00am - 9.30am on Saturday 4th April. 
Race Briefing: This will take place in Transition at approx 9.10am
