Born and bred: Taranaki
Live in: Auckland
Wife: Christine
Children: Two adult daughters
Tri Club: Auckland City Tri Club - member since 1990 (Past President)
Triathlon involvement:
Started competing around 1989/90. Numerous Olympic distance, and Half Ironman races.
Ironman NZ in 1993 & 96. TriNZ age group rep at World Tri Champs 1997/98/99 and 2006
Tri NZ Board member since 2002. Vice President 2004, President since 2005.
Favorite Triathlon:
Noosa Tri. (Triathlon and holidays are made to go together).
Arthur Klap (Vice President)

Born: Wellington, Bred in Dunedin
Live: Wellington since 1984
Wife: Lynne
Children: Adult daughter & son and two grandchildren
Club: Wellington Triathlon Club (life member)
Triathlon Involvement:
Did first triathlon in 1982 and competed in the first Coast to Coast in 1983 and the first New Zealand Ironman in 1985. Still do one triathlon a season.
Organised the 1994 Triathlon World Championships in Wellington and 2003 Triathlon World Championships in Queenstown plus 100+ other triathlon, duathlon and multisport events. Love swim triathlons and multisport events.
Favourite triathlon:
The TriArthurlon – the only one I have done for about 10 years now! The Mount Half Ironman is a favourite to watch and/or be part of.
James Turner

Regular age group competitor, having competed his first ever triathlon in January 2007. Has been to three World Championships in the NZ age group team.

Born and bred: Ashburton where I lived until university in Christchurch.
Live in: Devonport, Auckland
Wife: Lynne (multiple gold and silver age group medallist at Worlds)
Children: Brooke (former elite triathlete), Ben (current elite triathlete)

Triathlon involvement:
Board member 2006 to present, I love the sport - I must do because I've been doing it since 1988! My family is also right into it, so being a Board member is a way I can put something back into the sport by using my business experience.

Kinloch (although Wellington is growing on me!)
Christopher Boyle

Paul Gunn

Born and bred: Born in Wellington but bought up in the sunny Bay of Plenty
Live in: Glendowie, Auckland
Wife: Justine
Children: One - Sam, a 7-year-old bundle of energy and enthusiasm

Triathlon involvement:
Started racing in 1987 as a junior at secondary school races and raced competitively until the mid 90's across all distances up including the Ironman. Had a break for about 8 years to recover from a big back injury and started up again in 2005 to slow the onset of "middle age spread". Paul won the National Long Distance Championship for his age group (40-44) at Port of Tauranga 2011.
Favorite triathlon:
Easy - Xterra Rotorua. The single track sections in the mountain bike course are stunningly good fun.
